Access & opening hours 

Access to the building is only possible with a student card. These are distributed at the beginning of the course. If the student card is lost students must pay € 15 for a duplicate. The building is open from 8.30 to 17.30. Students are kindly requested to leave the building before 17.30. The cantina is open all day, with service –under normal circumstances- available from 9.00 to 15.00.  

Given the exceptional circumstances of the COVID-19 pandemic, accessibility of the building restricted. Access outside of class time needs to be requested through rwa-studentenloket@ahk.nl. Please familiarise yourself with the RWA COVID-19 protocol.

Digital learning environment  

The Amsterdam University of the Arts uses the MyAHK.nl platform for digital communication. You can access the intranet and various apps including MS Outlook for your email; MS Teams for communication with students and lecturers, including online meetings, the sharing of class materials and submission of assignments; Alluris for grade information; your OneDrive, your timetable and the library catalogue. Every module you are enrolled in has its own team. Besides this there is a general RWA AMHS Team and a general RWA Master Students Team. The later includes an announcements channel for the communication of upcoming (external) events. Before submitting any assignment it is advised you perform a plagiarism check in teams. House rules

In line with national legislation, the Reinwardt Academy operates a non-smoking policy in and around the building. If students are unable to attend classes, they inform the lecturer through Teams.  Any changes in contact information such as change of address or phone number must be communicated via Studielink as soon as possible.  

Damage & liability  

The Amsterdam University of the Arts cannot be held liable for any personal or bodily injury or death of a student. The Amsterdam University of the Arts does not and will not guarantee the safety of the students or their property during their participation in the Programme.  

Multimedia library 

The Reinwardt Academy multimedia library (Room 2.04) has a large collection of literature on theoretical and historical museology and related subjects. The collection consists of more than 11,000 books, 100 periodicals and newsletters.  The books are arranged according to subject matter, the classification is in the introduction manual. The periodicals are arranged alphabetically by title in a separate section of the library.

The library also contains museum documentation, together with brochures from most of the Dutch museums and major foreign museums. In the library, several computers available for online research. Students can consult the catalogue online. In order to have a wide access to online journals we strongly recommend students to obtain a membership of the Royal Library in the Hague.

Conditions:
A maximum of four books can be borrowed for a maximum period of four weeks. Museum documentation, reference books, and periodicals can only be consulted in the library. Renewals can be made by email or phone. Late returns are subject to fines. Marking or making notes in books or on any documents is not allowed. Borrowers are responsible for loss and damage.
